Understanding Lyell

Sir Charles Lyell (1797-1875) is renowned as a pioneering  geologist and author. Following the expansion of the Sir Charles Lyell Collection at the University of Edinburgh, there is now more opportunity to understand Lyell's life and work than ever before. This website provides space for researchers to collaborate and share their current work on Lyell through participation in a scholarly network and blog.
